About Us

Since setting up BV Consultants in 1997, Mike has worked with pre-start and new small businesses as well as larger established businesses, operating in a wide range of sectors including manufacturing, retail and service. Activities range from business sale, assisting with business plans and raising of finance, start-up/ongoing business advice, and training and mentoring of senior management. Voluntary sector activities include housing association directorship, Princes Trust mentoring and participation in pilot for Young Enterprise Scheme.

Recent/current activities include:

• Delivering 3 day start-up workshops
• Book-keeping workshops throughout Hampshire
• Support and advice for those considering self employment
• Assistance with preparation of business plans and cash flow forecasts
• Hands-on assistance for business start-ups in the leisure and food sectors

Prior to setting up his consultancy, Mike held a variety of general and senior management positions. These included:

• Turning around a 60-employee electronics manufacturer. Exports increased from less than £50k to over £1m and several additional businesses successfully integrated
• Returning to profitability a Dutch pumps distributor serving Benelux and German markets
• International Marketing Manager for £50m turnover African operations of Cussons (Imperial Leather) plc
• Production manager of 500 employee copper refinery
